    I don't understand how this place has the negative reviews that it does, so this review will hopefully remedy the bad vibes others are sending for it.

    El Mex is a good Mexican Restaurant to get your standard Americanized Mexican menu. There are other places in Duncan that I will NOT eat at when it comes to this type of food. We typically eat here once every 1-2 weeks for our lunch break at work.

    What keeps us coming back? Their chips and salsa are pretty decent. They also know us well enough to know to bring us two spicy salsas instead of a spicy and a mild when we walk in the door. The familiarity is nice. They are very accommodating to changes in their standard menu items such as beef instead of chicken or no cheese.

    Need a quick lunch? No problem! Usually we sit down, get our chips and drinks, and our food is out faster than we often realize we have even ordered it. Some days we finish eating so quickly that only 20 minutes have gone by, and we have time to just sit and relax before returning to our work day.

    If you want a decent lunch break or just some good Mexican fare with friendly service then this is the place to come.

    The wait -staff is awesome, the food is good, the new manager is a douche-bag. He was very rude to our party of 18. We have celebrated birthdays there for 20 yrs. Never again. He even refused to apologize when asked. 25-30 repeat customers will never return. May not put them out of business, but we will def spread the word! I would recommend this place to NO ONE!

    The service is usually good, the food is served quickly, and the prices are pretty reasonable too.  There were some changed in the management / ownership a xoiple of years ago, and I personally think it's not quite the same, but I still eat here frequently.

    Cold quesadillas. Sad! Listlist, rudderless leadership of this once great restaurant. Almost as bad as the Mexican restaurants in Greenville. I bet my insurance premium will go up more than the time I smoked a cigar.

    Met a friend for a quick dinner. Not impressed. Nothing special about the menu and the staff wasn't especially friendly.  They do not sell alcohol on Sunday. There were specials offered but only on the numbered predetermined combos which always have one item I don't care for.  I probably won't return.
